2023 Riesling Dry, Niagara Peninsula
This is stunning value from the house that riesling built. I suspect mature vines lie behind the complexity and structure that soar well beyond its price, with classic, lifted aromas of pear/apricot, lemon, petrol, fine herbs and wet stone.
NV Rosé Brut, Beamsville Bench, Estate Grown
Cave Spring’s characterful sparkling Rosé is made from 100 per cent Gamay Noir grown in the winery’s namesake vineyard in Beamsville. The base wine was barrel fermented and aged for eight months before undergoing secondary fermentation and ageing in the bottle for three years.
2024 Chardonnay Estate, Beamsville Bench, Estate Grown
This star-bright white shines the colour of sunlit straw in the glass and draws you in with delicate scents of lemon and cream. While slightly rounder than the other wines noted here, this local Chardonnay still delivers the dry, crisp lift associated with its Burgundian counterpart.
