Overall I think these pencils performed better than I expected. PROS: strong core, less waste than traditional coloured pencils, great colour vibrancy and richness of colour, great travel pencil.

Confused re: Koh-i-noor Polycolors
They are quite smooth and soft... Kooh I Noor polycolors feel and behave a lot like Polychromos but they are a bit softer. Their lead is also thinner than POlychromos... I had never ever broken a single lead of a KIN polycolor, they are as resilient as their German counterparts.
